Community Outreach

We invite you to help out with our community outreach activities:

Clothing Our Kids

Collecting NEW clothing for school-aged children

The mission fo Clothing Our Kids is to impove the lives of at-risk Head Start through High School students by providing them with new school clothing. Not having essential clothing has a direct negative impact on children's self-esteem, attendance, and ability to learn, and can lead to bullying. COK's goal is to assist these youngsters with an equal start in their education and to help them become successful students.

New clothing donations can be dropped off at All Saints Church, 18 Olive Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 4 pm.

Food Bank Donations

Man carrying grocery bags

Responding to our neighbors' urgent needs for non-perishable foods. At the same time that food insecurity is increasing, donations to the Food Bank are decreasing. We are collaborating with the Metropolitan Community Church of Rehoboth to address critical needs. Please be generous, if you can, in adding a few items to your grocery cart for our neighbors.

Drop donations in the Food Basket at the back of church or bring them to the Church Office through October.

Here are items being requested: peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, pasta sauce, canned meats, rice, sugar and flour in small plastic bags, mayonnaise, ketchup, cooking oils and sprays, chicken noodle soup

Healing & Salvation: The Barrier-Breaking Good News of Luke

Bible graphic

Mondays at 6 pm begins September 22

All Saints’ Church Parish Hall

Led by The Rev. Celeste O. Cox, S.T.M.

This bible study explores the Gospel of Luke and the ways it informs the mission of the Church.  With attention to the Gospel program articulated in Luke 4:16-30, we will study, then reflect together, on various passages in the Gospel.  Topics may include texts to be featured on upcoming Sundays; parables unique to Luke such as The Dishonest Steward; Luke’s journey motif; and the early church’s imaginative reading of the bible known as The Senses of Scripture.

All are welcome, no experience necessary.

Bible Study: Book of Genesis

Tuesdays at 2 pm starting September 23

St. George's Parish Hall

Led by Mother Shelley McDade

We will dive back into the Old Testament with the start of the Abraham and Sarah family line. This Bible Study encourages an open mind to understand how God works in all our lives today and has throughout history. No previous study is needed. We gather, learn and share. Come and join our community discussion.

I want to cast away

every instrument of instant answers

to enter mystery, that place

that lies in stillness, open to the Spirit.

Circle of Conversation

Five Thursdays, October 2-30, at 2 pm

St. George's Parish Hall

Led by Mother Judy Rhodes

Join us in a circle of conversation around Mariann Edgar Budde's incisive book, How We Learn to Be Brave. We will reflect, pray, and learn more about our capacity to be brave as people of faith, hope, and love in the name of Christ Jesus. Our time together will include plenary discussion, scripture study, prayer, personal sharing in small group, and silent reflection/journaling. It will be a contemplative experience in the company of friends as we take precious time to listen and discern the ways in which the Holy Spirit is strengthening us to be more steady, more loving, more compassionate in living daily lives in seasons that may feel deeply uncertain. How are you being called to be more courageous and more compassionate exactly in the circumstances of your life? Let us reflect on this question as individual believers and as members of the Body of Christ, the Church.

Thrift Shop New Location

Announcing an exciting new venture for our Thrift Outreach Ministries:

With the commitment of our past and current vestries, parishioners, thrift staff and volunteers, and most assuredly our customers, we have purchased a new retail location of great potential to be opened mid-year 2026. The new property, made up of three separate buildings located at 26804 Lewes-Georgetown Hwy, Harbeson, DE, will be transformed from its current custom furniture sales business into a newly envisioned Parish Thrift Shop ministry for years to come. Parish Thrift Harbeson will join our Parish Thrift Midway location as our two anchor stores. The current property in Rehoboth will be closing sometime on 2026 as the current owner repurposes the land for a planned housing community.

Scouting America

Help launch the Parish Scouting America Program by joining our planning group.

Since 2010, Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America) has prepared America's youth for lives of impact and purpose. The Del-Mar-Va Council has determined that St. George's Chapel is the best location in Sussex County for a new Scouting America Program.

We need five volunteers to participate in our planning group, which will become the Troop Committee for a Cub Pack. If you are interested and would like to learn more, contact Gary Colangelo garycolangelo2@comcast.net

Parish Vision Journey

The Vestry has initiated a vision journey to look ahead 5 to 10 years to imagine parish life from its current state of growth. This year-long project will build from the recently completed 5-year plan which laid the needed infrastrucure for vibrant lay ministires and parish life.

The following parishioners from every corner of our current ministries have been asked to represent and guide us: Mark Barbone, Daria DiSabatino, Helen Hoart, Rutland Paal, Lisa Scholl, and Barbara Villwock along with Maurice Seaton, a Faith Facilitator with Core Capital Campaigns.

The parish will be called upon to offer insights and feedback along the way. Please keep our visioning team and this project in prayer that we may enter the conversation with love and grace.
